Works on Paper
// The Works On Paper coloured pencil drawings are inspired by forms encountered in everyday life and reinterpreted through memory and imagination. Drawing from furniture, objects, architecture, interiors, and colour, these familiar elements are translated into abstract compositions that blur the line between the recognizable and the imagined.
The drawings deliberately challenge conventional perspective. By selectively following and breaking its rules, the forms remain intentionally ambiguous, inviting the viewer to question their spatial relationships and continually reinterpret what they are seeing.
The drawings also became the starting point for the development of the Object Chair. The abstract forms, overlapping planes, and ambiguous perspectives explored on paper were translated into three-dimensional prototypes, where they could be experienced through movement and interaction. Rather than serving as illustrations of finished ideas, the drawings functioned as a design tool, allowing forms to emerge intuitively before being tested at full scale. This process established a dialogue between drawing and making, with each informing and reshaping the other throughout the project’s development.
